unlike the typical congo, the rojo has a beautiful red hue.  new growth has a copper hue, while more mature growth will have a burgundy color

philodendron thrive in filtered, indirect light, and can be grown outdoors in a shaded location during warmer months. too much harsh sunlight, however, can result in scorching.

water when the top quarter of the soil feels dry to the touch.  they are originally from the tropics, so they would love some extra humidity
