schefflera, commonly known as the "umbrella plant" is named so because of it's leaves which resemble little umbrellas. this beauty is native to taiwan and is a great addition to your plant collection.  it grows upright and can be pruned to maintain it's shape.  simply cut off the stem and pop it into a vase of water to propagate.

the umbrella tree will tolerate low light, but it will thrive in medium to bright indirect light.

w a t e r 

water when the top half of the soil is dry.  she can tolerate under watering, but over watering will cause root rot.

t o x i c i t y 

 this plant is mildly toxic to pets and humans. if ingested, it will cause throat and mouth irritation, and possibly vomiting.
